A celebration on the Marin waterfront
From Berkeley to Marin
Carly grew up in Auburn, California, with a deep love of the Sierra Nevada foothills and the wildflowers that define them. Elliot grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, spending his childhood and early years as a competitive sailor and rower on the water.
They met as undergraduates at UC Berkeley, in a French language class, and what began there eventually brought them across the Bay to Marin County, where they now make their home together in San Rafael.
Old St. Hilary’s — with its hillside wildflower preserve overlooking the bay — reflects Carly’s enduring connection to California’s native landscape. The Corinthian Yacht Club — one of the oldest and most storied sailing institutions on San Francisco Bay — speaks to Elliot’s lifelong relationship with the water.
Together, they make for a day that feels entirely like them.

☕ Coffee & Breakfast
Equator Coffee — Our go-to morning spot. Exceptional coffee with several Marin locations including Tiburon and Mill Valley.
🍽️ Eat & Drink
Hook Fish Co. — The best fish tacos in the Bay. Order at the window, eat outside. Mill Valley and SF locations.
Sam's Anchor Cafe — Right on the Tiburon waterfront. Grab a dock table for brunch or lunch with views of the Bay and Angel Island.
The Junction — A neighborhood gem in Mill Valley. Great for a relaxed dinner with local wine and seasonal California cooking.
Joinery — Cozy spot with excellent cocktails and small plates. Perfect for a casual evening out.
Poggio — Beloved Italian trattoria in Sausalito. Perfect for a leisurely dinner after walking the waterfront.

Guaymas — Mexican restaurant right on the Tiburon ferry dock. Order a margarita and watch the boats.
🥾 Outdoors & Hiking
Mount Tamalpais — Marin's iconic peak. The East Peak summit has 360° views of the Bay, San Francisco, and the Pacific. Go early on weekends — the parking lot fills up fast!
Tennessee Valley Trail — An easy, beautiful 3.8-mile out-and-back through a scenic valley to a secluded beach. Dog-friendly and one of the best in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Tiburon Linear Park — A 3-mile paved path along the waterfront connecting Tiburon to Belvedere. Perfect for a morning walk or bike ride.
Ring Mountain Preserve — A short hike right from Tiburon with sweeping Bay views. Under 2 miles — great for the morning before the wedding.
Muir Woods — Ancient coastal redwoods just 20 minutes away. Reserve a timed entry permit in advance at recreation.gov — it sells out on weekends.
Muir Beach & Stinson Beach — Two beautiful NorCal beaches a short drive over Mount Tam. Stinson is larger; Muir Beach is more secluded.
⛵ Day Trips
Angel Island — Take the 10-minute ferry from downtown Tiburon to this stunning car-free island. Hike the 5-mile perimeter trail for panoramic Bay views. Ferries run regularly on weekends.
Sausalito — Just 15 minutes away. Walk the charming waterfront, browse art galleries and boutiques, and stay for lunch or dinner.
San Francisco — Take the Blue & Gold Ferry from Tiburon directly to the Ferry Building (30 minutes on the water). Explore the Embarcadero, the Mission, or Golden Gate Park.
🍷 Wine Country
Sonoma Valley (about 1 hour away) — Start at Sonoma Plaza, which is surrounded by tasting rooms and great restaurants. Our favorite wineries are Anaba Wines — a beautiful estate known for Rhône and Burgundy varietals with a stunning windmill and outdoor tasting area — and Ram's Gate Winery — one of the most gorgeous properties in Sonoma, with sweeping vineyard views, exceptional pinot noir and chardonnay, and an incredible food program. Book tastings in advance for both, especially on weekends. Consider hiring a driver or booking a group wine tour van for the day!
For those who wish to dress formally, tuxedos and long evening gowns are welcome. A dark suit or cocktail-length dress is equally appropriate.
We encourage guests to dress in a way that feels elegant and celebratory.
